My Grandmother's Attic was a real place, where I spent many happy hours going through steamer trunks filled with my great aunt's clothing, high-button shoes, large feathered hats, silks, laces, and all sorts of wonderful linens. I knew it was a dreadful mistake the day my grandmother gave it all away to the "junk man," but who listens to a 9-year-old? Ever since then I have been rescuing these old, abandoned pieces of the past and lovingly restoring them, turning them into dresses, pillows and dolls, endeavoring to relive the wonder I found as a little girl in My Grandmother's Attic....
