MY STORY
Laura Twiford

My Name is Laura Twiford and like most folk artists I have been creating art in one form or another all my life. I have been creating all manner of handmade redware, employing a variety of methods, since 1996. I believe in always learning and growing and bringing new ideas to the pieces I create. I take pride in the details, originality and workmanship that goes into every piece I make. It gives me great joy to know that something I have created is appreciated by others.

I live on the Eastern Shore of Virginia which is a peninsula sandwiched between the Chesapeake Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. My husband and I own and operate a restaurant here on the road to Chincoteague Island, where they swim the wild ponies every summer. I consider myself very fortunate to live in such a beautiful area surrounded by water, wildlife refuges, farms and fishing villages. My studio is also located on Chincoteague Rd. in an old store from the turn of the century that my husband and I have renovated.
